Layer up...

September has turned cold so it is time to get layering. This is an essential fashion skill for the colder months and it's easy. Javelin has a few tips - if you were going to wear one top, wear four instead; when putting on a coat, think 'could I wear a gilet under this?'; never ever leave the house without at least six items of knitwear on and leave more time for dressing/undressing because all those layers are going to take longer. For tops to layer, see American Vintage, they do great basics in a rainbow of colours. For warm boots, try Sorel and Fly. Coats - Ted Baker, or for a more country casual look - Barbour. Team everything with skinny jeans (because they balance out the bulk of all the layers up top) And don't forget: Knits, Knits, Knits.

And we've not forgotten the boys. How about a velvet jacket from Scotch & Soda for a textured layer? Add chinos, shirt and scarf to complete. There, not difficult was it?

It's Pay Day! Yay!

It's pay day today! It is also an official blue moon tonight because it is the second full moon of the month. This doesn't happen very often so why not mark the occasion by treating yourself to something from Javelin. This Ted Baker Ros Jacket, for example, is a great piece to spend this month's wages on. Happy Pay Day everyone and don't forget to vote for Javelin in the Velvet Magazine Awards.

Carnival Time!

It's Carnival time! The excitement of Notting Hill Carnival has reminded Javelin how much we like good music, dressing up and going out for a good time. For this season, we think we'll be repeatedly wearing the Ted Baker Kipp dress, because what says 'going out' better than a fiesty, little red dress. Feathers are always a costume essential for any good carnival outfit (just look at Nikki Minaj in her 'Pound the Alarm' video) so the Little Mistress Feather Print Dress will put you in the carnival mood whenever you wear it out. We've teamed our dresses with Unisa Tekel shoes and the bubblegum scented Melissa Vivienne Westwood Skyscrapers.

The Future is Bright...

It's bold, it's brave, It's Orange! If you've been in Bury St. Edmunds recently, you can't have failed to notice Javelin's dynamic new look. If you haven't seen it yet, where have you been? Get down town now and check it out. The colour is called 'African Adventure' and we love it.

Like Eva Longoria, we at Javelin know that a bold orange hue is perfect for getting you noticed. If you aren't as brave as us and cannot quite go top to toe tango then why not try some of our orange flavour accessories. For the men, there are the Ted Baker Tiamat Underpants or the Diesel Divine Boxers to choose from. And for the ladies, why not try a Ted Baker Maggye Purse or a Paul's Boutique Coco Bag.

Javelin's new paint

Obviously, we like our new look but what do you think of it? Is terracotta the new black? Let us know...
