It's Pay Day! Yay!

It's pay day today! It is also an official blue moon tonight because it is the second full moon of the month. This doesn't happen very often so why not mark the occasion by treating yourself to something from Javelin. This Ted Baker Ros Jacket, for example, is a great piece to spend this month's wages on. Carnival Time!

It's Carnival time! The excitement of Notting Hill Carnival has reminded Javelin how much we like good music, dressing up and going out for a good time. For this season, we think we'll be repeatedly wearing the Ted Baker Kipp dress, because what says 'going out' better than a fiesty, little red dress. Feathers are always a costume essential for any good carnival outfit (just look at Nikki Minaj in her 'Pound the Alarm' video) so the Little Mistress Feather Print Dress will put you in the carnival mood whenever you wear it out. We've teamed our dresses with Unisa Tekel shoes and the bubblegum scented Melissa Vivienne Westwood Skyscrapers.

As it's the beginning of the long weekend, we thought we'd get Saturday night sorted for you by picking out the perfect outfit. We've put a Glamorous Tee and Leggings with a French Connection Jacket and brand new in Melissa Vivienne Westwood Shoes. It's bold, it's brave, It's Orange! If you've been in Bury St. Edmunds recently, you can't have failed to notice Javelin's dynamic new look. If you haven't seen it yet, where have you been? Get down town now and check it out. The colour is called 'African Adventure' and we love it.

Like Eva Longoria, we at Javelin know that a bold orange hue is perfect for getting you noticed. If you aren't as brave as us and cannot quite go top to toe tango then why not try some of our orange flavour accessories. Drapers Fashion Awards Finalist

Javelin is a Finalist in the Drapers Fashion Awards 2012 and we're really excited!!! We just couldn't wait to tell everyone!

We have been shortlisted in the Women's Retailer of the Year - Independents Category. Above and below are little bits of our entry for you to check out, with some pictures of our lovely staff modelling Javelin clothes. The full shortlist is officially announced on the Drapers Fashion Awards website on Friday 24th August, but for the first time ever they are announcing the finalists on twitter all this week. Follow @Drapers_Awards to find out who we're up against in the independents category, which should be announced first. Packing up the Sale

Have you ever wondered where the sale goes? The Javelin Outlet Shop! Here's a picture of Mark packing up and scanning out the Sale from the Bury St. Edmunds store and then, a short journey later, a very happy Nadine unpacking it all at The Javelin Outlet Store, which can be found on Friar's Street in Sudbury, open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am until 5pm. The Outlet Store is also now online so you can enjoy all your favourite Javelin brands for less.  

Autumn Winter Update

We noticed a certain dark romance on the catwalks this Autumn Winter. Pucci went all out with floor length glamorous black, whilst Nina Ricci draped dark fabrics across a romantic silhouette. Seeing this trend, Javelin has put together an outfit for you to wear this weekend. We've picked the Vivienne Westwood Platoon Dress because of its softly draping shape and unusual printed on rips. It's perfect for nailing this trend. We've also matched the Ted Baker Clove Bag with Unisa Agnello Peep Toe Courts and an Aftershock necklace to accessorize the look.

Winter Trend Alert

Two key trends that have emerged from the fashion world this Autumn Winter are fur and roll necks. We've made like Michael Kors and teamed them up for a double fashion hit. We've put our b.young Vula Roll Neck Top with an Ichi Trok Gillet. We've also used Ichi Erqi Leggings and finished off the look with Coolway Polvina Boots and a Big Metal Necklace. Buy your roll necks and fur jackets this weekend (while the weather is hot) so when it turns cold you'll be the first in the latest winter trends. The roll neck is such a key piece for this season that you will wear it throughout the colder months and fur accents are the chicest way to bring a bit of apres ski glam to a winter's outfit.

Far East Fashion Revolution

Far Eastern Influence - an essential trend for A/W 2012

This season is going to be all about the Far East, from Dries Van Noten's raid through the Chinese silk collection to Jason Wu's east meets west style dresses, expect to see lots of silk and oriental print for this Autumn Winter. Here at Javelin, we are loving the crane print on the Bombshell Bird Cap Sleeve Dress. This dress is the easiest way to wear the trend because it teams a classic hourglass cut dress with the traditional eastern print of crane birds. Cranes are lucky in Japanese culture - it is said that if you fold 1000 paper cranes you will be granted a wish by a crane, so get folding! Alternatively, you can just wear the dress and hope it brings you good luck because it'll certainly look good. We also like the colourful cherry blossom print on the Darling Arabella dress and tunic because it has a hand painted appearance. Team the tunic with a wide belt (or use a big piece of ribbon like we have) and some wide leg trousers for an on trend evening look.

 It’s Friday! and we’ll be drawing another winner later for our TJI Friday campaign. Last week’s winner was Miriam Palombo and she won £50 worth of vouchers.

In the spirit of the campaign, we’ve been having a think in store about why we are thankful that it is Friday. Chris, Tiffany and Henry are all off out at the weekend. Chris is going to be rocking his new Scotch and Soda T-Shirt when he’s out tonight with the lads. Tiffany will be wearing her new Vivienne Westwood jeans out with the girls Saturday night, and Henry is just looking forward to partying hard with the rest of the team. He says he’ll be party rocking. 

Lucky Anna is pleased that it is Friday because this weekend she is off to the Men’s Hockey Final at the Olympics. She’s picked a Vila top to wear, which assures she’ll win the best dressed medal.

Seen on new band Stooshe and a wardrobe staple for celebrities like Kelly Brook and Amy Childs, this brand creates classic feminine styles in ultra flattering cuts. Our favourite dress is the Hourglass for the obvious reason that it creates the perfect hourglass silhouette.

For the “Thank Javelin It’s Friday” campaign, we turned to our very own Javelin team to help create the photo shoot. The staff picked their favourite summer festival outfits and we headed out for a sunny afternoon in Nowton Park. Kelly and Portia picked clothes from the Glamorous brand, with Hunter wellies, just in case the weather turned. The boys, Henry and Greg, went for shorts and shirts. Kelly brought along her tent (which won an award at V festival last year) but it didn’t pop up as easily as she’d promised. After struggling with that for a while, the team were quite happy to stop for an ice-cream break and were soon jumping off benches. Shooting on location was certainly fun. The “TJIFriday” promotion runs throughout August. Every Friday this month we are giving away £50 of Javelin Vouchers to spend in store or online in the TJI Friday Prize Draw.
